Types of CCTV
Conventional Analogue: This has been the standard way CCTV cameras have been installed. They require a coaxial cable from the camera`s back to the DVR (Digital Video Recorder) The resolution is generally low on this type of camera but are cost effective. Systems vary from a single camera to any amount required. Typically Digital recorders will be a 4 /8 /16 and 32 inputs.
IP Network Systems: This is the new technology of camera. Typically the cameras will utilise a LAN
(Local Area Network) running on Cat5 cable. It is recommended that a new network be installed but a small system may be able to run off your existing network saving the cost of cable and time. These cameras can be powered down the same cable utilising POE (Power over Ethernet) switches. Again this saves on having to run separate power cables or needing local power points. The main advantage of the IP camera is that its resolution is much better, “Up to 10 times” of the analogue camera resulting in better picture quality. The IP camera generally terminates into a NVR (Network Video Recorder) But It is possible via converter`s to convert analogue cameras to be excepted by a IP NVR, thus utilising your old technology but expanding with the new technology.
NPR: (Number Plate Recognition) this type of system utilises either a conventional analogue camera or an IP camera. This type of camera is designed to capture the registration number of a motor vehicle or motor cyclist. This can be captured by standard DVR/NVR utilising standard software or the camera can be linked NPR software. The NPR software will add a base to allow various uses such as connecting to an access control system, locking out certain Vehicles, Setting times for certain vehicles, a comprehensive data base and many other functions.
Wireless Systems: Any type of camera can have a wireless radio system fitted and transmit both data and video back to the DVR/NVR. With modern wireless systems any amount of cameras can be connected in virtually any position on a site. Added to this you can have Wireless Perimeter Beams to work in conjunction with the cameras, offering a hassle free and simple way for the installation.
Covert Systems: We supply and install a number of different covert cameras. These can be monitored off site and or hidden from the local installation. These cameras offer the client the ability to monitor areas that may be of concern. A site inspection is generally needed to ascertain what type of device is required.
POS:(Point of Sale) We are able and specialise in POS. All Digital recorders are able to accept POS and we are able to connect 90% of tills and certain Avery Scales. This allows us to not only monitor Cash Registers but also certain scales found in butcher and grocery sections.
